"Vinehugger" is an Organic Chenin!

Overview of the Wine
"WE BELIEVE there's a lot to be said for the way winemaking used to be. There were no chemicals, no "technological advancements" that made the process a process, and natural balance was more important than balance sheets.

Some people dismiss it as old-fashioned nostalgia, but we like to think of it as ancient wisdom. And we embrace it as much as we can. Not just because it's better for the earth, but because it makes for better wine."

The Chenin Blanc grapes are sourced from beautiful and organic vineyards situated 32km inland from the Atlantic Ocean, on the valley ﬂoor of a hot and semi-arid region. The vines are planted in loamy soils, which adds a great ﬂavor proﬁle to the Chenin Blanc grapes. The grapes are bunch sorted and destemmed and naturally fermented in stainless steel. After 6 months further aging on the lees, the assemblage is made up and bottled.

Tasting Notes
Notes of quince, pear and yellow apple are apparent on the nose, with notes of star fruit and sweet pineapple. The palate is fresh and vibrant, showing ﬂavors of lemon zest and apple. The wine has well integrated acid, a very good structure, core and a nice long ﬁnish.

Organically grown, 1.5 g/l of RS (Residual) balances beautiful nuance, texture and typicity. Stainless keeps the fruit clean and pure - spontaneous fermentation, followed by six months of less. Resulting wine is pure, and has wonderful texture and purity. Poached pear, citrus, red apple, kiss of nutmeg; good to plus concentration and finish is both clean and dry with a refreshing touch of acid. Fun daily white, ideal for savory foods and wine by the glass. Color 13.5/15, Aroma 22.5/25, Body 23/25, Overall Impression 31/35 = 90 Points - Amazing value
