Overview of the Wine
O’Shaughnessy Estate Winery sits at 1,800 feet on the heralded Howell Mountain appellation in the beautiful Napa Valley. Founded in 1996, the estate encompasses one hundred and twenty acres. Winemaker Sean Capiaux has overseen the planting of the vineyard and selected numerous clones of Cabernet Sauvignon and all seven of the historic Bordeaux varietals for this unique property.
O’Shaughnessy Estate Winery uses modern equipment to produce non-interventionist wines that are naturally fermented and bottled unfined and unfiltered. These techniques allow the varietal character and terroir of O’Shaughnessy Estate vineyards to be the stars of the show.

Winemaker's Tasting Notes
This 2019 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has a dark blue/black color and an opaque center. This is a stellar wine with black cherry and blue fruits. The flavors are bright and focused with gorgeous layers of black cherry, plum butter, and mixed berry compote. This expansive Cabernet Sauvignon finishes with flavors of smoked cherry wood and smooth but age worthy tannins.
94 Points - Jeb Dunnuck
The base 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is terrific, and while I don’t know the price, I suspect it’s a great value. Deep purple-hued, with terrific mulled currant and blackberry fruits, it has lots of ripe herbal, chocolaty spice notes, full-bodied richness, sweet tannins, and a great finish. This is pure Napa Valley goodness to drink over the coming 10-15 years.
93 Points - James Suckling
Aromas of blackberries and black cherries with hints of licorice, dried flowers and wet stones. Deep and compact with tight, chalky tannins. Full body. Ripe purple fruit in the middle and a spiced, bittersweet finish. Drink or hold.
93 Points - Ian Blackburn
Dense purple hue, succulent black and blue fruits, iconic Napa Valley nose of dusty cherry, and expensive spa aromas... nice refined chewy tannins. Hard to not drink now - very enjoyable wine, a value inside the upper tier of producers... top house, winemaker and vineyards.... made to enjoy. C14, A23, B23, O33
