Overview of the Wine
Domaine du Banneret is a small family property of five hectares, located in Châteauneuf-du-Pape in the Rhône Valley. From a confidential production, only 13,000 bottles are available each year. Two cuvées are produced by Audrey and Jean-Claude Vidal: a red Châteauneuf-du-Pape vinified according to ancestral methods and a white Châteauneuf-du-Pape whose production does not exceed 2,000 bottles. The vines are old, they produce low yields but of high quality. The average age of the vineyard is 70 years, the old vines are regularly replaced by new plans while respecting the original complantation. The vineyard is managed with respect for nature thanks to the use of organic composts. The nine plots are located on different localities, the production therefore comes from a very varied terroir.

Winemaker's Tasting Notes
Tracing its origins back to 1405, Domaine de Banneret is a small 5-hectare property situated right in the heart of Cheateauneuf-du-Pape. Located on the characteristic galet-covered soil, the vineyards are divided in 9 parcels. This wine is "old school" and one of the few producers who are still using all 13 traditional grape varieties. Labelling is all done by hand when orders are placed. It is hard to get more bespoke than this. Everything you want from southern French red.
