Overview of the Wine
Located in the Valle de Uco, Argentina, the Cuvelier Los Andes winery was founded by the Cuvelier family, owners of several Bordeaux chateaux, including Chateau Leoville Poyferre. Cuvelier Los Andes is also a partner of the Clos de Los Siete company. The production style is similar to that of Bordeaux estates with manual viticulture, low yields and organic and biodynamic practices. The wines are aged in French oak barrels.
Carefully conducted, each of our vineyard plots is worked taking into account quality and respect for the environment. We work organically and biodynamically, with “French-style” viticulture, producing 100% own high-quality grapes.
Valle de Uco, Mendoza, the terroir that houses our grapes at the foot of the Andes Mountains, is a valley formed by high peaks. Its great thermal amplitude provides a unique quality to the raw material.
Our vineyards were planted from 1999 to 2006 and covered 55 hectares with a density of 5,500 vines per hectare. Malbec is the majority, completed by Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc.

Winemaker's Tasting Notes
The season started with a cold and dry winter that remained persistent throughout September. Spring and Summer high and low temperatures exceeded their annual average ranges. However, this increased temperature range promoted an optimal phenolic maturity and an incredible anthocyanin accumulation. These exceptional conditions delivered an outstanding vintage which is captured in each of our wines. 2018 is definitely a vintage to remember, and possibly, the best vintage of our short history.
Once the vats are full, the grapes undergo maceration before the alcoholic fermentation occurs. This takes place in stainless steel tanks at a maximum of 26oC and lasts from 7 to 10 days.
Appearance: Very intense red with important violet reflections, bright and attractive.
Aroma: Complex and intense, notes of ripe plums at the entrance, and dried fruits with minerality at the end. Fine and seductive.
Mouth: Wide attack with sweet tannins, round and very attractive finish. Silky. Another worthy specimen of our 2018 vintage. Very rich
