Overview of the Wine
Château Giscours has constantly reinvented itself to survive the centuries.
Pierre de Lhomme, Marc Promis, Jean-Pierre Pescatore, Edouard Cruse, Nicolas Tari and now the Albada Jelgersma family – all ambitious and visionary estate owners who were passionate about pulling together the estate’s land and giving this vineyard, named a Third Grand Cru Classé in 1855, a reputation for excellence.
The people of Giscours are the worthy heirs to this tradition, an inextricable part of Médoc fine wine. For many years, a creative and dynamic team has combined this ancestral expertise with ultra-modern techniques: continuing care and attention paid to the vines through the seasons, a focus on harvesting by hand, ongoing meticulous plot selection thanks to major investment in the vineyard…

Winemaker's Tasting Notes
La Sirene de Giscours is the second wine of Chateau Giscours, a winery in the Margaux appellation of the Bordeaux region of France that is classified as one of 14 Troisièmes Crus (Third Growths) in the Bordeaux Wine Official Classification of 1855.
Aromas and flavors of beautiful black-currant fruits that are dense and concentrated, while still showcasing elegance and pecision. Nots of violets and dark berries with serious length.
93 Points - James Suckling
Very rich, darkly concentrated berries and impressively structured tannins. Flavors are in the dark-berry/plum zone and they're carried long and focused. Impressive wine. Try from 2021
91 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2015 La Sirene de Giscours is a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc. It has a crisp, quite pure black cherry, raspberry coulis and cedar-scented bouquet that gently unfolds in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with good depth for a deuxième vin, the 30% new oak nicely integrated with good depth and grip on the graphite and spice-tinged finish. This is worth seeking out - the best La Sirène de Giscours to date, but those with a wise head will give it 2-3 years in bottle.
91 Points - Vinous
The 2015 La Sirene de Giscours is terrific. Deep and pliant in the glass, the 2015 offers superb intensity at this level. Crushed flowers, savory herbs, menthol, licorice and plums infuse this deep, pliant wine. This gorgeous second wine from Giscours is long on both texture and depth.
