Overview of the Wine
The latest owner of Chateau Carbonneau is Wilfrid Franc de Ferrière and his wife Jacqui, they lived in New Zealand for 5-years before returning to reinvigorate the Chateau in the south-eastern part of Bordeaux.
Previously all of the wine on the vineyard had been flogged off to the dirty big French co-operatives but upon their return Wilfrid and Jacqui put an end to that. They replanted the vineyard with the classic Bordeaux varieties (especially Merlot) and started producing all of their wine on site, it was a bit of a come back for Chateau Carbonneau

Winemaker's Tasting Notes
The Classique is our everyday wine, and as everyone knows, drinking wine every day is good for your health and that of your winemaker! Gourmet nose marked by ripe fruits, cherries, figs. Supple attack, fine and silky wine. Long finish, melted tannins. The Classic is the purest expression of the fruit of Château Carbonneau. - Pierre Franc de Ferriere.
