Overview of the Wine
Based upon the solid foundations of granddad Artemis’s winemaking tradition since 1952, the winery made a dynamic entry in contemporary winemaking in 2004, when grandson Artemis Karamolegos invested in the production facility and the privately owned vineyards, producing wine of protected designation of origin (PDO) for the first time. Almost 15 years later, our wines keep earning prizes at international and domestic competitions while our export activities continue to grow on a yearly basis: we are currently the third largest winery of Santorini in terms of production volume.

The winery participates in major international exhibitions such as ProWein, distributes its wines all over Greece through Vinalia and also exports to major overseas markets such as the US, Canada, Germany, Belgium, Cyprus, Japan, Denmark, the Nederlands.

Winemaker's Tasting Notes
Carefully selected vineyards with old vines, located at special locations of Pyrgos, Megalochori, Exo Gonia, Akrotiri and Fira.

Classic white type vinification, partial pre-fermentative maceration. Only free-run juice is used; fermentation under controlled temperature with selected and indigenous yeasts. Approximately 10% of the wine ferments in oak. The minimalistic winemaking approach is followed during all stages of production. Wine ages ”sur-lies” for at least 8 months.

Typical and austere expression of Santorini. Mineral nose with fruity (peach, pear) and herbal (tea, chamomile) hints. Creamy feel balancing Assyrtiko’s nerve and high acidity. Highly concentrated aromas, fine complexity, and long, salty aftertaste.

94 Points - Ian Blackburn
This wine came into my life and really was a look inside at top efforts of Santorini.  Santorini is a very premium "island" appellation - where you will pay dearly to visit... but you will not mind.  The sun, the weather, the food, the wine - and the elevated quality of Santorini make it a top destination.  This wine starts with a quality fresh white ideal for seafood, the nose takes you to the island, salty, dense (a quality) and intense.  The flavors and acidic flutter throughout your palate - harmonizing with the right food (love to have some flame grilled calamari or octopus with this beauty).  The overall impression is again about quality and the intensity of this offering... it stands out and is a celebrated wine.  Color 14, Aroma 23, Body 24, Overal 33 = 94 points
