Overview of the Wine
Coombsville, Sauvignon Blanc, organic, dry farmed vineyard. Grown on an old river bed in the Coombsville district this vineyard produces only 3 tons to the acre. This gives the wine a concentrated mineral quality that is unique to its place. Due to the farming practices of organically grown and dry framed this vineyard is very sensitive to mother nature and the variations in weather from year to year, producing a singular wine that is nuanced with the different vintages.
Organic.

Winemaker's Tasting Notes
The 2020 Aileron Estates Coombsville Sauvignon Blanc offers expressive aromas of tropical fruits, Meyer lemon, and pomelo. On the palate, this wine is full-bodied with excellent acidity and a hint of sweetness from barrel fermentation. Finishing with bright acid and great tension- enjoy now, or age for 3-5 years.
94 Points - Ian Blackburn (2019)
Having tasted a number of Sauvignon Blanc prepared by the virtuoso Philippe Melka and his team member Maayan Koschitzky (Screaming Eagle) - you kind of know where this Aileron is going before you pull the cork. Melka's daft touch punctuates and perfume's his Sauvignons like know-one else.... baked meyer lemon tart, gava, green papaya, mango, with barrel influences of vanilla custard and toasted almonds and provides amazing mouthfeel with extraordinary curves and tension. The mouth is massive at first and generous, but quickly refined and becomes exacting as Sauvignon can be ... and finishes with great acidity.
