Winemaker's Tasting Notes
Each year we create Seafarer as a blend of fruit from our coastal vineyards to create a truly harmonious wine that showcases why we make wine here on the coast. The goal is to create a wine that is more about overall texture, depth, and coastal complexity than individual site expression. In 2022, the blend is based around five vineyards: Rincon, Spanish Springs, Derbyshire, Edna Ranch and Greengate Vineyards, all of which are less than 6 miles from the Pacific Ocean, making them some of the most coastal vineyards in all of California.
92-94 Points - Jeb Dunnuck
The 2022 Pinot Noir Seafarer showed beautifully, with a darker strawberry, plum, and mulberry-driven profile offering lots of cooler peppery herb, violet, and underbrush-like nuances. It's medium-bodied, silky, and elegant on the palate.
