Overview The Wine
Where the towers of the city of Siena are the backdrop to the vineyards cultivated on the high slopes of the hill of Montalcino. This is the terroir where we move.
The vineyards extend over the northern slope of the Collina di Montalcino. It is a marine area, with marine and wind sediments, with the presence of sea sand mixed with various minerals.
The first 3000 meters of vineyard were planted in 1975, then, in 1979 as many and finally in 1984 the last 9,000.
Alessandro Mori since 1975, the year in which he planted together with his brother the first plot of vineyard, works in his company, represents the “historical memory” having participated in every step, every reflection and productive change.

Winemaker's Tasting Notes
The Madonna delle Grazie 2021 is a magnified version of the Brunello, showing a complex, brooding, and tightly wound texture. It features dense layers of dark berries, lifted by notes of blood orange, wild undergrowth, and intense minerality. It is long and intense, brilliantly blending the juiciness of 2019 with the energy of 2020.
100 Points - James Suckling
A restrained wine with a sleek, elegant nose of licorice, red cherries, cherry pits, Parma violets and a hint of balsamic. Precise, focused and full-bodied, it shows tension, firm yet ripe tannins, blood orange flavors, a tight yet woven palate and focused acidity. Drinkable now, but best from 2026.
98 Points - Wine Advocate
From a special vineyard near the chapel that gives the wine its name, Il Marroneto’s 2021 Brunello di Montalcino Madonna delle Grazie is a wine of beautiful complexity and delicacy, distinguished by an elegant savory note reminiscent of cypress trees on a warm summer day. It shows striking focus and intensity yet remains finely balanced, with a sense of richness carried by a refined, seamless texture. The tannins are softly polymerized thanks to a slow fermentation that emphasizes patience and finesse over extraction, carried out spontaneously with no temperature control. It matures in oak botti for 47 months, a regimen that shapes the wine’s depth and balance. Only 9,000 bottles were made. (ML)
