Overview of the Wine
When acclaimed vintner Paul Hobbs arrived in Spain in 2015, he traveled to a remote village in the northwest region of Galicia. There, he met with Antonio Lopez, a local viticultor who introduced him to Alvaredos, a small town surrounded by mountains and vines planted on steep, terraced slopes. Together they explored the vineyards, smelled the soil, and quickly realized their mutual desire to unearth the potential held in these ancient sites and indigenous varieties.

After a long drive together back to Madrid, a lifelong partnership was established. After nearly 20 years, Antonio fulfilled his ardent desire to pay tribute to the small village and his grandfather who introduced him to the land when he was a child. The project also represents a new opportunity for Paul to champion one of the oldest and forgotten corners of viticulture in Spain by honoring its unique history while playing a role in elevating the region for present and future generations.

Winemaker's Tasting Notes
One of the oldest varieties of the Iberian Peninsula, Godello is a white grape indigenous to Galicia and highly regarded for its delicate texture and medium-high acidity. An early-ripened variety, it thrives in dry sites and well-drained soils, and is characterized by its small-sized berries and closely packed bunches. It is recognized for making age-worthy wines.

94 Points - Wine Enthusiast
Medium yellow to the eye, this wine has a bouquet of lemon, pear and river rock. A wave of acidity washes across the palate bearing grapefruit, lemon zest and white peach flavors alongsidenotes of butterscotch, dried thyme and a hint of oyster shell that lingers into the vivid finish.

93 Points - James Suckling
A nervy nose with some gravel minerals and a very subtle, lactic and nutty edge to the limey fruit and green apples. Some fine macadamia nuts, too. Intense limey flavors and mealy acidity bind together, driving the textured, medium to full bodied palate to a long, creamy yet nuanced finish.
