Overview of the Wine
Bohème was founded in 2004 near the town of Occidental, 50 miles north of San Francisco Bay and 7 miles from the Pacific Ocean.

The essential tasks of grape growing, fermentation and aging are conducted by a dedicated team of vineyard and cellar workers. Four distinct soils and climates at elevations 600 to 1,250 feet give singular expression to each wine.

"We at Bohème devote our lives to winegrowing on California’s Sonoma Coast.
Our namesake Bohemian Highway meanders Sonoma’s Coast Range of redwoods, valleys and farms. Crafting wine from this place is a formidable, yet deeply fulfilling, endeavor. The frontiers are numerous: vine nutrition, pruning technique, trellising, soil biology, cover crops, grape chemistry, fermentation, cooperage, èlevage and others. A complete grasp of but one can take a lifetime. We take great efforts to expand our knowledge and bottle a most captivating wine, yet Mother Nature is the true maker of wine—and stands within each of a vintner’s moves. Indeed it’s nature’s unknown that gives magic to great wine."

Winemaker's Tasting Notes
The components of this reserve coastal cuveé include six Pinot Noir selections grown on three distinct soils. Averaging 30% stem inclusion, the fermentation lots underwent hand punch-down treatment, then aged 22 months in 25% new French Oak cooperage.

Notes: Moderate garnet color in the glass. Somewhat reserved but pleasant nose with aromas of purple berry compote, allspice, and bark. Mid-weight plus in concentration, featuring bold waves of purple and black berry fruit augmented with a touch of spice and earthiness. A bit rustic, showing the effects of whole cluster, with the faintest oak in the background, slightly more noticeable but not imposing tannin. Lovely black cherry and rose petal aromas, more giving fruit flavor and a noticeably long finish.

95 Points - The Wine Independent

92 Points - Wine Enthusiast
This deeply powerful wine is funky and fresh, with plenty of acidity. Black tea, forest and citrus combine around a lightness of rose petal and light tannin, deceptively grippy in its youth yet beautiful above all else.
