Overview of the Wine
Giuseppe Quintarelli was the 'Maestro del Veneto', establishing a legendary estate over a 60-year period. He is known as the father of Amarone.

Since his passing, the legacy has been honoured and continued first by Giuseppe’s daughter Fiorenza, and son-in-law Giampaolo, and now by his grandsons Francesco and Lorenzo.

The name itself stands for so many things, but more than anything, a way of doing things the right way.

It’s about more than just wine though. From, beautiful handwritten labels, to the best quality corks, to the exquisite wine in the bottles, the Quintarelli name is the ultimate indication of an artisanal, handmade, and uncompromising wine of the highest quality.

Winemaker's Tasting Notes
Giuseppe Quintarelli "Cà del Merlo" Rosso 2017 is an exquisite red blend from one of the most legendary producers in Veneto, Giuseppe Quintarelli. Known for its commitment to quality and traditional craftsmanship, the Quintarelli estate consistently produces wines of exceptional character and complexity. "Cà del Merlo" comes from a single vineyard, and while it shares similarities with Valpolicella, it has its own distinct identity, reflecting the Quintarelli family's passion for creating wines with depth and nuance. The wine undergoes a partial appassimento process, where a portion of the grapes are dried before fermentation, imparting richness and concentration. On the nose, it reveals enticing aromas of ripe cherries, dark plums, and blackberries, along with notes of dried herbs, licorice, and subtle spices like clove and cinnamon. Hints of leather, tobacco, and a touch of balsamic add complexity to the bouquet.
