Overview of the Wine
Kinero Cellars is a boutique, small-production winery based in Paso Robles, California, founded by winemaker Anthony Yount. The label dates back to the late 2000s (around 2008 for the first vintage) and was built from Anthony’s passion for crafting expressive white wines — in part inspired by his desire to make white wines compelling even to those who claimed to prefer reds.
My passion for white wine, no doubt, stemmed from my father’s distaste for it. It’s not that I set out to make white wine out of spite, but rather, he inspired me. You see, he claimed to only like red wine, so it became my goal to find balanced and interesting whites that he would like. It didn’t take long as he slowly began to appreciate the depth and complexity that carefully sculpted whites can deliver. When I was presented with the opportunity to make my own wine, it was an easy decision to focus on making white wines. These wines are not only for those drinkers that enjoy the nuances of a handcrafted white wine, but also for those who pretend not to.

Winemaker's Tasting Notes
An exotic nose filled with cantaloupe, Asain pear, and wet slate. Zippy and oh-so crushable on the palate — this is the perfect porch, pool, or pond sipper this summer.
93 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Fermented in concrete and amphora, the 2023 Grenache Blanc Alice is a vibrant, crunchy rendition of the variety while sacrificing none of its floral poise. It sports a fresh, vibrant nose of white flowers, crushed chalk and citrus pith nestled within a stone fruit-driven richness. The palate is a delicious combination of supple and bright, with laser focus and pleasing tension through the finish.
