Overview the Wine
Domaine Gassier is the result of a shared passion between Tina and Michel Gassier. Located at the tail-end of the Rhône Valley, their vineyards face the marshes of Camargue and the Mediterranean Sea. They have a Rhône Terroir under maritime influence, situated in the southernmost Rhône appellation: Costières de Nîmes. Gassier vineyards have been organic certified since 2008 and are now transitioning towards regenerative farming.

They believe in minimal intervention to enhance freshness, balance, and minerality.

As of 2022, Isabel Gassier, the youngest and 5th generation of their family, has joined the Domaine. With great energy and humility, Isabel is leading the transition to regenerative farming. She embodies the next generation, constantly striving for positive change and innovation.

Winemaker's Tasting Notes
Deep red with violet highlights. Pure and complex, the black fruit, cherry, and hot stones, are released with a bit of aeration. The dense and velvety body fills the palate and reveals notes of cacao, dried herbs and pencil lead. The fresh and fruity finish is heightened by mineral notes and fine tannins.

93 Points - Jeb Dunnuck
The 2019 Costières De Nîmes Nostre Païs is largely Grenache yet includes 15% each of Syrah and Mourvèdre as well as a splash of Carignan. As always, it’s more about purity and elegance than power and offers medium-bodied aromas and flavors of black raspberries, kirsch, ground pepper, and flowers. While it’s not a blockbuster, it has enough structure to warrant a year in bottle and should drink nicely through 2029. It’s another incredible value.

91 Points - James Suckling
A warm, spicy red with underlying earthy depth, this is full-bodied, but very well balanced, the generous supple tannins and healthy acidity pulling everything together very neatly. Long finish. From organically grown grapes.

91 Points - Wine Enthusiast
This focused wine is a blend of 50% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 20% Mourvèdre, 5% Carignan and 5% Cinsault. The palate offers fresh potpourri mixed with fleshy black cherries, blood orange pith, rhubarb mulled with kirsch liqueur, baking spice and rosemary. Balanced and accessible in its youth, this bright blend can be enjoyed immediately with grain salads with a citrus base.

90 Points - Wine Spectator
Stylish, with red tea and sandalwood hints leading the way for red currant and raspberry coulis flavors, finishing with a light chalky minerality. Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Carignan and Cinsault.
