Overview of the Wine
The latest owner of Chateau Carbonneau is Wilfrid Franc de Ferrière and his wife Jacqui, they lived in New Zealand for 5-years before returning to reinvigorate the Chateau in the south-eastern part of Bordeaux.

Previously all of the wine on the vineyard had been flogged off to the dirty big French co-operatives but upon their return Wilfrid and Jacqui put an end to that. They replanted the vineyard with the classic Bordeaux varieties (especially Merlot) and started producing all of their wine on site, it was a bit of a come back for Chateau Carbonneau

Winemaker's Tasting Notes
A deep garnet hue with a nose dominated by black fruit, leather and spice (cloves). The palate is full-bodied and elegant with silky tannins. The oak is discrete but enhances the roundness of the rip fruit.

The wine is ready to be drunk now or can be aged for another 5 to 10 years. Already drinking well, this wine is perfect accompaniment to grilled meat, asian cuisine and cheese.

90 Points - Wine Enthusiast
Black fruits give a solid feel to this wine. It has weight, supported by the tannins, plus fine acidity to back it all up. The wine is still young, drink from 2025.

90 Points - James Suckling
This has aromas of black plums, blackberries, bay leaves and tobacco. Cloves, too. It’s medium-bodied, with firm, tightly knit tannins. Framed and fresh. 66% merlot, 18% cabernet franc and 16% cabernet sauvignon. Drink in 2024.
