Overview of the Wine
Tony Arcudi worked first as a missile navigation engineer aboard Navy
submarines and later as a product manager in the tech sector. His transition to
winemaker– working with wine greats like Heidi Barrett and famed Maison M
Chapoutier– happened later in life. 

It’s a story that is still just beginning, evidenced by 100 point scores for his
work at Kapcsandy Family Winery and the launch of his own wine brand.

From his experience both in France and in Napa Valley, Tony’s longtime personal dream came into sharper focus: he would seek out select sites and make vineyard-designated wines that expressed the personality of these sites for Arcudi Wines.

2019 was an outstanding vintage in Napa Valley. Mother Nature provided a long warm summer followed by a mild fall., These excellent conditions allowed the grapes to reach full ripeness. The wine is plush and very approachable.

Tony Arcudi is making a name for himself and its time to pay attention.  His mailing list receives a big portion of his effort with unique single vineyard wines; Tony produced this wine, a blend of vineyards, from a series of important sources.  Tony's work at Kapcsandy has resulted in some of the most highly scored and pricy wines in Napa Valley.  With this Terramagra bottling, he artfully blends this fruit and finds a sweet spot that surprised me for a wine sub $50.  The value this wine creates will only be appreciated by a small audience because its a tiny production but wow, will these fans be impressed.  This is a Cabernet to buy by the case, you will be one of only a couple hundred.  Deeply colored, beautiful Cabernet character, body, that benefits from a big kiss of merlot.  The mouth is voluminous but well appointed with expensive use of wood, and obvious high quality marks.  The quality check list is long as is the finish... well done! I was especially impressed with Tony Arcudi's wines this year. Arcudi has the magic touch when it comes to finding that elusive balance at Stagecoach where the tannins are tamed and the wines retain energy. Arcudi's new Terramagra Cabernet is a great choice for readers on a budget. It is a blend from a number of top sites that can't be disclosed, but that are about as good as it gets.

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Terramagra is a new, value-priced wine from Tony Arcudi. A vibrant, mid-weight Cabernet, the 2019 possesses terrific energy and freshness. Blue/purplish fruit, lavender, spice, menthol and licorice. Fresh floral accents lift the finish. The 2019 is an absolute steal. Don't miss it.
