Like the wine’s appellation, life is unwritten. We were inspired to create something beautiful – something that would grow with us in our own unwritten journey. Mark Porembski first became interested in wine years ago while studying poetry and discovering that some restaurants in Boston’s North End were not perfectly strict about the legal drinking age. He moved to California in 2000 to pursue his interest in wine, eventually taking on the position as Winemaker at Anomaly Vineyards. Mark founded Zeitgeist Cellars, a wine label in collaboration with his wife, Jennifer Williams, in 2005. With experience that includes dozens of wineries in Napa and a stint in Hawkes Bay New Zealand, Mark brings conscientious selection and a commitment to simple and thoughtful creation.

Our 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of two prestigious vineyards from two distinct appellations: The Las Posadas Vineyard near the top of Howell Mountain and the Oakville Station vineyard in the heart of the valley, (adjacent to To Kalon in Oakville}

Coming from the Oakville Station and Las Posadas (Howell Mountain) vineyards and all varietal, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley reminds me of a great Pauillac (I wrote Pichon Baron in my notes) and has awesome notes of darker currants, graphite, and leather, with a Pauillac-like lead pencil character that I just love. These carry to a full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon offering fabulous purity, fine yet building tannins, integrated acidity, and a great finish.
