Overview of the Wine
Not all Crémant de Bourgogne are created equal. Michael and Harmon Skurnik have searched for years for a Crémant de Bourgogne that can deliver the quality and value that the Skurnik name has come to represent. With Victorine de Chastenay, they have found that rare combination. Long an afterthought for many producers in Burgundy, these delicious sparklers come from fruit in the Côtes de Nuits and Côtes De Beaune in Burgundy (a welcome contrast to most Crémant de Bourgognes that are made from fruit in the Maconnais, Beaujolais, and Côte Chalonnaise)
Grape / Blend
75% Pinot Noir, 10% Gamay, 10% Aligoté, 5% Chardonnay
Origin
Burgundy, France
Tasting Notes
Excellent French sparkling wine can be found outside of Champagne. This wine is delicious proof. This Crémant is made from 40-year-old Burgundy vines and aged on complexity-building lees for 20 months. Expect crisp, fruity notes of apple and orange zest, and a balancing acidity.
94 Points - Ian Blackburn
A great value in French Sparkling: Fruit from 40-year-old burgundy vineyards see lees contact for 20 months. Crisp but with good palate weight and quality marks. Green Apple, Citrus Peal, Baked Bread, with a concentrated mousse formidable attack! Color 14.5, Aromas 23.5, Body 23, Overall 33 = 94 points
