Overview of the Wine
Oxer always wanted to make wines in La Rioja Alavesa and in 2005 he moved to Laguardia convinced of the uniqueness of the area. In 2009 he makes his first wine with grapes purchased from the growers in the area (grapes from old vineyards). The experiment succeeds. He falls in love with this region and its stunning vineyards. Oxer then decides this is the place where he wants to settle and further express the art of winemaking. Relatively new to the region, but already enjoying national and international recognition.

Winemaker's Tasting Notes
Suzzane is a very elegant wine. The seductive velvet texture is balanced by juicy acidity and softly gripping tannins. Flavours of red cherry, bramble and plum, sweet spicy flavours such as cinnamon and cacao, tobacco and violets. All leading to a concentrated and complex aftertaste.
93 Points - Wine Advocate (2020 Vintage)
The Garnacha red 2020 Suzzane was quite open, a little more advanced than the other 2020s, ripe and heady but with a vibrant palate that was not consistent with the notes I found in the nose. He sent me a second bottle that I tasted at home, and the profile was completely different: floral, young and spicy with a medium body and very fine tannins, a long, dry finish and still young and energetic. There are only 2,000 bottles. In 2020, the Garnacha had lower yields because of poor flower settling and some hail. On hold. It was bottled in September of 2021.
