Overview of the Wine
Liquid from Farming
The name Liquid Farm describes the authentic nature of wine (liquid from farming), and reflects our strong belief that all great wines start in the vineyard. It is truly all about selecting the right locations and the highest quality fruit, then allowing the varietal and regional typicity shine through from vineyard to glass.
Grape / Blend
100% Pinot Noir
Origin
Santa Barbara, California
Winemaker's Tasting Notes
We began producing our 'SBC' Pinot Noir in 2016 and it has quickly become one of our most popular (and favorite) wines! While SBC stands for Santa Barbara County, the 2021 is once again specifically all Sta. Rita Hills, featuring Radian, Sanford & Benedict, La Rinconada, and Kessler-Haak vineyards. Small amounts of new French oak and stems lay the structural foundation while a brief elevage promotes the freshness and fruitiness we all expect from this AVA.
92 Points - Jeb Dunnuck
Moving to the reds, the 2019 Pinot Noir SBC (mostly destemmed and brought up in 10% new French oak) reveals a ruby hue as well as a terrific perfume of ripe red fruits (strawberries, raspberries) intermixed with classic leafy herbs, forest floor, and spice-laced aromas and flavors. Pure, clean, and classic on the palate, it's medium-bodied, has beautiful fruit, silky tannins, and is just an incredibly charming, satisfying Pinot Noir to enjoy over the coming 4-5 years.
