Overview of the Wine
Jean-Luc Jamet is one of the most iconic producers of Côte-Rôtie and Côte du Rhône. His journey began in 1991, working alongside his brother Jean-Paul at the famed family estate “Domaine Jamet”. The magnificent Domaine occupied some of the the best parts of Côte-Rôtie and Côte du Rhône – but in 2013, the brothers parted ways and split the 16 hectare estate into equal halves.

With a brand-new winery (literally separated by one wall to his brother’s) and the same marvellous vineyards at hand, Jean-Luc – the ‘phoenix’ of Côte Rôtie – started a new adventure. He now applies his craft in making wines of extreme delicacy to his own exacting taste and standards.

Tasting Notes
The Côte-Rôtie “Les Terrasses is bold and structured, with a spectrum of red-to-dark berry fruit alongside an iron earthiness. The bouquet is bold and structured, with a spectrum of red-to-dark berry fruit alongside an iron earthiness. The palate delivers waves of dark berry fruit, savoury cured meat across the mid-palate, before bakers spice and menthol on the aftertaste. Enjoy with hearty dishes like red meat-driven lasagne and ragu. Drink now with a one-hour decant before serving or lay down till 2030.

93 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2016 Cote Rotie shows lovely black cherry and dark berry fruit. It's medium to full-bodied, with a rich, supple mouthfeel and a long, silky finish.

90 Points - Vinous
Deep, brilliant ruby. Spice-accented aromas of fresh black and blue fruits, violet and olive, along with a hint of cola. Juicy and seamless on the palate, offering gently sweet boysenberry and cherry flavors that are sharpened by a peppery nuance. Shows good focus on the nicely persistent, gently tannic finish, which leaves a note of bitter chocolate behind.
