Overview of the Wine
In 1896, after a tour of France’s many vineyards, Marcel Ott, a young graduate in agronomy engineering, finally found an estate that inspired him. To set the scene, we are in Provence. The Mediterranean is lapping at the shore a mere stone’s throw away...
In these parts, growing vines is the legacy of ancient times. Alas, a short while before Marcel Ott’s discovery, phylloxera had wreaked havoc on the vines. The land was cheaper, but the vineyards would have to be replanted. The wine had lost a great deal of its soul in the vineyard’s reconstruction. Marcel Ott bought several estates and began renovating them with the determined ambition to create great Provencal wines from noble grape varieties.
Today, 120 years later, cousins Christian and Jean-François Ott dedicate their life to their ancestor’s love for the site. In 2004, Domaines Ott joined Louis Roederer and its fabulous selection of wine craftsmen.
Christian and Jean-François run three estates: Château de Selle, Clos Mireille (both Côtes de Provence) and Château Romassan (Bandol). Each of these properties has its own individual charm and personality. Each can be proud of their extremely elegant rosé, red and white wines.

Winemaker's Tasting Notes
These wines express all the richness of the terroirs of Provence and offer an exciting and pleasurable drinking experience. Produced organically, they infuse the know-how of a winemaking family with the vibrations of Provence. They represent the unique expression of the Ott⋆ style.
A delicate peach-colored robe, shining and radiant. The nose, highly expressive with notes of nectarine and rose, evolves towards pomegranate with a hint of fresh almond.
Full-bodied, the palate balances between luscious aromas of yellow fruits and the tang of grapefruit, leading to a lively finish carried by citrus zest. The wine offers a pleasant length.
93 Points - Wine Enthusiast
Fresh aromas of peach, pear, lemon and fresh cut grass burst from the glass of this pale rosé. It coats your mouth with lively flavors of stone fruits and ocean salinity. A robust rosé with great acidity and long spicy finish can be paired with with light proteins or is complex enough to drink on its own.
91 Points - James Suckling
A fresh, red-fruited rosé with sliced strawberries, pink nectarines, fresh flowers and citrus peel undertones. Crunchy and zesty on the palate with a medium body and saltine notes. Flavorful and vivid. Drink now.
90 Points - Vinous
Much zippier than the 2022, the 2023 Rosé BY.Ott shimmers with energy. At its core, this wine is the essence of strawberries. It's admirable in its purity of fruit, but it's also just slightly less harmonious than the previous vintage, with a bit of heat poking through. I keep waiting for more layers to develop, but aside from a little hit of crunchy sea salt minerality toward the close, you just hop on and ride the strawberry train. Tart orange juice freshness pings in right at the end, compelling me to raise my score slightly. Also, the finish is long...ok, maybe this is pretty good!
