Overview of the Wine
Considered the pinnacle of Burgundy, Domaine de la Romanee-Conti produces some of the world’s most revered wines from its tiny vineyards in Vosne-Romanee. Two of the Domaine's seven Grand Cru vineyards - La Romanée-Conti and La Tache - are monopoles (appellations entirely owned by the Domaine) and unarguably the greatest vineyards in Burgundy. Richebourg, Romanee-St.-Vivant, Grands-Echezeaux, Echezeaux, and Montrachet (in Chassagne) are also Grand Cru vineyards, yielding sublime wines that are among the most highly-sought, seductive and rarest in the world.

Tasting Notes
Experience the epitome of Burgundy elegance with Domaine de La Romanée-Conti Romanée Saint-Vivant 2019. This legendary wine offers a sublime bouquet of red berries, rose petals, and earthy nuances, balanced by silky tannins and vibrant acidity. Each sip reveals extraordinary depth and complexity, leading to a long, graceful finish. Raise your glass to a masterpiece of terroir and tradition, crafted with unparalleled precision.

98 Points - Decanter
The Romanee-Saint-Vivant was shown after the Richebourg, which was not always the case. The domaine farms 5.29 hectares here, the former holding of the Marey-Monge family that they had leased since 1966. Since its purchase in 1988, it has been partly replanted, but only the old vine fruit is used here. The wine has a darker, plummy fruit character as compared to the Richebourg and a grippy, substantial feel with more tannic strength and an impressively lingering finish. It seems if anything to have gained in substance and depth since tasted in barrel. Drinking Window: 2025-2065.

97 Points - Vinous
The 2019 Romanée-Saint-Vivant Grand Cru was harvested on September 21 at 27hl/ha. It has a very typical nose for this appellation, offering opulent macerated black cherries, boysenberry and violet aromas. There are very faint scents of more exotic fruit, fig and peppermint in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with a velvety texture, and lightly spiced with just a hint of bay leaf and clove. It builds gently in the mouth toward a beguilingly harmonious finish. Judicious touches of black pepper linger on the long aftertaste.

97 Points - William Kelley, Wine Advocate
The 2019 Romanée-St-Vivant Grand Cru wafts from the glass with breathtaking aromas of raspberries and strawberries mingled with bergamot, Indian spices, peonies and rose petals. Full-bodied, vibrant and perfumed, it's finer boned than the more muscular Grands-Échézeaux, with a bright spine of acidity and beautifully refined tannins, concluding with a long, penetrating finish. Striking for its purity and elegance, my handwritten notes include the phrase "pure sensuality."

97 Points - Jasper Morris
This was in a difficult place to taste a year ago in barrel. Quite a full dark purple on the nose, the fruit is notably darker on the nose, with more power than detail at first sniff. Some blacker fruit alongside the crushed strawberry, builds beautifully across the palate, sensual certainly and I am sure the sense of refined detail I look for in Romanée St-Vivant will come later. Very light coffee notes as well. Strawberries strengthen on the nose. Quite firm tannins at the moment, but excellent length.
