Overview of the Wine
Between Pomerol on the West and Saint-Emilion on the South, Château Faizeau is nestled in the beautiful appellation of Montagne Saint-Emilion in the center of the most prestigious terroirs of the Libournais. Château Faizeau is one of the oldest wine-growing terroirs in Bordeaux already appearing on the 18th century historique Belleyme map. This high-quality vineyard flourishes on a plateau bathed in sunshine, sometimes shaded by maritime pines. With a majority of Merlot, Château Faizeau is one of the most full-bodied wines of its appellation, which has earned it the name of “Tenor”. In a constant concern to optimize the potential of the terroir, Château Faizeau relies on the knowledge of Michel Rolland and Julien Viaud who intervene during the key stages in the development of this great wine. Diligente about respecting the environment and its terroir, the property has been HVE level 3 certified since 2020.
Winemaker: Michel Rolland (RIP)
Michel Rolland was more than a winemaker—he was a defining voice in modern wine.
Hailing from Pomerol, Michel Rolland helped shape the character of wines across Bordeaux and around the world, crafting bottles known for their richness, balance, and unmistakable polish.
His influence transformed a generation of winemaking, blending tradition with innovation in a way few ever have.
Now, we raise a glass in his honor—celebrating a legacy that will live on in every bottle he touched.
Rest in peace.

Winemaker's Tasting Notes
Château Faizeau has a garnet color, very sustained and brilliant, with pretty fuschia nuances. The nose is complex, both fruity and spicy. It exhales aromas of blackberry jam, licorice and graphite. The palate is ample, balanced and persistent with notes of black fruit jam.
92 Points - James Suckling
A rather juicy and rich red with blackberry and black-mushroom character, as well as some dried fruit. Dark chocolate, too. Full-bodied, chewy and flavorful. Give this time to soften the tannins and tame the rusticity of the wine. Try after 2024.
