Overview of the Wine
Alban Vineyards is the first America winery and vineyard established exclusively for Rhone varieties. Conceived at a time when there were virtually only two "flavors" of wine produced in the U.S., they set out to introduce wine grapes that would offer oenephiles a new world of possibilities. Pioneering Roussanne, Grenache Noir and Viognier to go along with meticulously selected clones of Syrah, Alban Vineyards has guided consumers and producers to the enormous potential of Rhone varietals in California.

Winemaker's Tasting Notes
Alban Central Coast Viognier showcases the forward heady stone fruit of this variety. It is fermented and aged entirely in stainless steel and bottled early.

93 Points - Jeb Dunnuck
Honeyed peach, orange blossom, spice, and floral and exotic tropical notes all shine in the 2024 Viognier Central Coast, a beautifully layered, medium to full-bodied Viognier. It's balanced and has both richness and freshness, as well as outstanding length. Drink bottles over the coming 2-3 years. Drink 2025-2027.

91 Points - The Wine Palate
Compelling floral notes of honeysuckle and orange blossoms soar from the glass of the 2024 Viognier, giving way to a core of candied ginger, ripe yellow apples, and juicy pears, with a waft of spice cake. The medium-bodied palate delivers impactful orchard fruit layers with loads of baking spice accents and an alluring oiliness to the texture, finishing with a refreshing lift.
