Overview of the Wine
Domaine de Vaccelli is a leading producer of modern Corsican wines, with a focus on typical Corsican grape varieties that form the pillars of the Ajaccio appellation and terroir. The vineyard is committed to manual harvesting and organic farming, and was certified as organic in 2019. The vineyard’s 25 hectares of vines are planted on hillsides with granite arenas, producing exceptional wines like the Chioso Novo cuvée and Aja Donica, crafted from a parcel selection of Vermentino grapes. With a nose of honey and white flowers, great aromatic persistence, and a perfect balance, this wine also boasts flavors of nectar, candied lemons, and sweet spices, thanks to its blend of Vermentino and Bianco Gentile grapes.

Tasting Notes
Quartz Blanc is one of the few blends produced by Vaccelli, using a mix of four white grape varieties native to Corsica: Carcaghjolu Bianco, Riminese, Ghjenuvese and Cudiverta. A relatively new wine in the range, the vines for Quartz were planted in 2013 on sandy granitic soils. Quartz displays a harmonious balance between the fleshy citrus and green fruit, supported by white florals, honey, and a sappy bitter spice finish. Layered over this profile is a hint of curry leaf and wisps of smoke normally associated with premium Jura Savagnin.
