Overview of the Wine
Domaine de Vaccelli is a leading producer of modern Corsican wines, with a focus on typical Corsican grape varieties that form the pillars of the Ajaccio appellation and terroir. The vineyard is committed to manual harvesting and organic farming, and was certified as organic in 2019. The vineyard’s 25 hectares of vines are planted on hillsides with granite arenas, producing exceptional wines like the Chioso Novo cuvée and Aja Donica, crafted from a parcel selection of Vermentino grapes. With a nose of honey and white flowers, great aromatic persistence, and a perfect balance, this wine also boasts flavors of nectar, candied lemons, and sweet spices, thanks to its blend of Vermentino and Bianco Gentile grapes.

Vaccelli’s Granit Red is from Sciaccarellu grapes grown on vines with an average age of 45+ years old on a plot selection of 1.5h with East-West exposure.Manual harvesting is conducted along with controlled yields. Deep nose carried by notes of black cherry, blackberry, sweet spices, hint of leather. The palate has great finesse, silky tannins and endless length. A craft of gastronomy. Worth decanting for 1 hour or cellar 10-15 years. 100% Sciaccarellu.
