Overview of the Wine
"Much of the enjoyment of the journey producing Vangone Estate is due to whom you share it with. We are blessed to share it with too many great friends to name who have been integral in our ability to chase our dreams, but none more so than the wonderfully thoughtful and collaborative efforts of Vineyard Manager Mario Bazan, Winemaker Sam Kaplan and most importantly our family Patriarchs Ron & Karen Davidowski. Without them the vision of Vangone Estate could not be realized."

Winemaker's Tasting Notes
Our fourth vintage finds the vineyard well established and producing greater depth, richness and complexity. This expression of Vangone Estate Cabernet Sauvignon slowly opens up, as nuanced and enticing aromas roll out of the glass one after the other in an unending parade for the senses, urging you to slow down and savor the entirety.  The vineyard's hillside power is again showcased producing a dense, opulent wine of palate drenching fruit seasoned with hints of spice, cedar and earth.  It's both elegantly supple and densely powerful at the same time with a persistent finish that make it prime for decades of development. An exciting and mature expression of Vangone's depth and power.

97+ Points - Jeb Dunnuck
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon, from a mix of Black B and Block D, is another brilliant wine, if not my favorite of the trio. Cassis, graphite, tobacco, and chocolate notes make up the bulk of the nose, and it's full-bodied, has a stunning mid-palate, and tons of obvious minerality and salinity on the finish. Aged 32 months in new barrels and with just 250 cases made, it's well worth the extra effort to track down.

97 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon is produced from 100% of this grape. Deep garnet-purple in color, it has a powerful nose of baked plums, stewed blackberries and cassis with nuances of dried lavender and fallen leaves, plus a hint of cedar. Taut, firm and full-bodied in the mouth, the black berry layers deliver loads of savory accents, and it finishes on a persistent peppery note. 250 cases were made.
