Overview of the Wine
The history of the Schiopetto winery has its origins in Capriva, where Mario Schioppetto rented the vineyards of the Curia around the Archiepiscopal Palace in 1970. Mario was able to transform old and uncultivated lands into vineyards treated in detail, until finally the vineyards of the Curia became his property in 1989. He managed to transmit his love and passion for tradition to his children who helped him to run the company over the years. The Schiopetto winery, which is owned by the Rotolo family since 2014, continues to be the voice of the philosophy of Mario Schioppetto and gives us excellent wines.

Winemaker's Tasting Notes
This unique blend of the oldest vines of the Friulano grape on the property that were planted in 1954 with Riesling grapes that reside on a pristine south-facing side of the property. This full-bodied white is considered top of the line within the famous whites of Mario Schiopetto. A rich mouthfeel is accompanied with notes of custard, sweet almond, pear and quince. This show stopping white is juxtaposed with a delicate nose and strong palate that finishes with a beautifully strong minerality.
97 Points - James Suckling
Such clear mineral character here with peach-pit and dried-apple character. Very complex and subtle. It’s full-bodied with a tight, refined palate feel and length. It’s flinty and steely at the end with crushed stones. Drink or hold.
