Overview of the Wine
The Thanisch family has cultivated wine since the year 1636 and can look back on a history covering almost 400 years. Today the estate is run as a family business in the 11th generation, of which the last four generations were women. The first woman leading the estate was Katharina Thanisch, who was one of the VDP founding members in 1910. Today the estate is managed by Sofia Thanisch. The label is a very Classic Art Nouveau Etiquette from 1901 and depicts the estate, the town of Bernkastel and the Doctor vineyard in the background.

Tasting Notes
The intense aromas of local and exotic fruits are accompanied by fine residual sweetness. This is underlined by a vital acid core. Typical characterful terroir wine from the Doctor! 

96 Points - James Suckling
Although this is still quite closed, there’s no doubting the greatness of this riesling Kabinett. Terrific concentration and precision on the very focused, light-bodied palate. With aeration the stone fruit, honeysuckle and wild herb aromas develop beautifully. Extremely long, silky finish. Drinkable now, but best from 2026.

Spicy aroma of ripe, bright fruit, yellow peach, red apple, quince purée, pear, with fine herbal savouriness. Lively acidity on the palate, fine ripe fruit, texture, tangerine, grapefruit, apricot, subtle with good structure and length.
