Tasting Notes
Scents of plum, summery red apple and violet. At the palate it shows a good structure and a full body, even if it is a wine of young and fresh nature. It is a typical every-day wine, that is well paired to many dishes, such as legumes soups and pasta, red and white meat, and cheeses as well. The wine is characterized by a purple color and is characterized by good soft tannins, with final full and supported by a strong fruit forward power. Pairing pasta dishes, roast meats, cold cuts and cheese at medium-long aging.
Made entirely of the Montepulciano grape from the foothills of central Italy’s Abruzzo region. Abruzzo's rugged terrain, 65% of which is mountainous, help to isolate the region from the winemaking influence of the ancient Romans and Etruscans in Tuscany but the area has had a long history of wine production. Montepulciano makes some famous top-end big reds here in the Abruzzo, but the variety also makes amazingly good inexpensive red wine, far better than comparable Sangiovese.
