Overview of the Wine
Blandy’s distinguishes itself for being the only family, of all the original founders of the Madeira wine trade, which still owns and manages its own original wine company. Throughout its long history on the island, the family has played a leading role in the development of Madeira Wine. The family continues to live in Madeira, thus maintaining a tradition that dates back to 1811 - two centuries and seven generations producing excellent wines.

Winemaker's Tasting Notes
Packed with aromas of raisins, butterscotch and vanilla. Mouth-filling concentrated flavours of maple syrup, figs, caramel and sugared walnuts. Sweet but with a streak of acid verve. Beautifully balanced with an endless finish and lovely complexity.
93 Points - Decanter
Sugar and alcohol are superbly integrated in this Bual that balances rich flavours of red apple, walnut & pumpkin jam, quince and maraschino cherries with a thick vegetal rim of coffee, caramel, tobacco and cherry leaves. High notes of mahogany, cherry jam and Earl Grey-infused poached plums add both lift and depth.
92 Points - James Suckling
This medium-sweet Madeira shows subtle varnish, dried fruit and pie crust notes. The palate is sharp and full-bodied, moderated by residual sugar (80 g/L), with a tense and prolonged finish. So much tension. Drink now or hold.
91 Points - Falstaff
Medium amber. Intense nose with notes of dried fruit, figs, some dates, nuances of almonds and vanilla. Pleasantly light on the palate with a nice balance of fruit and acidity. Appropriate length. A certain saltiness on the finish.
