Overview of the Wine
Winemaker/Owner Jim Binns has rocketed to fame in his roll as cellar master and right hand man at Sine Qua Non. Like SQN, Andremily is all Rhone varietals totaling about 4,000 cases. His fruit is sourced from Alta Mesa, Larner, and White Hawk vineyards. Very limited in availability, it was reported that within 24 hours of the news of his first release in 2012, he had 2,000 mailing list customers. Jim is known to be meticulous in the cellar, as well as the vineyard and his wines reflect that razor sharp focus.

Tasting Notes
This blend exudes power and complexity, with a bold nose of blackberry, smoked meat, and black pepper. The palate is dense and layered, delivering flavors of dark fruit, licorice, and a touch of savory herbs. Structured tannins and vibrant acidity provide balance and ensure aging potential. The finish is long and satisfying, echoing notes of spice and roasted espresso.
98 Points - Jeb Dunnuck
The 2021 EABA is based on 63% Syrah, 21% Mourvèdre, 15% Grenache, and the rest Viognier and saw a slightly longer élevage, spending 31 months in 60% new oak. Exotic red and black fruits, ground pepper, violets, bouquet garni, sandalwood, and some gamey, meaty notes all emerge on the nose, and this beauty is full-bodied, has a concentrated, layered mouthfeel and incredible length. It's another incredible wine from this talented winemaker that deserves 3-4 years in the cellar and will shine over the following 15.
96 Points - The Wine Independent
Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2021 EABA gallops out with powerful notes of black cherry compote, blackberry pie, and plum preserves, followed by hints of violets, spice cake, and cracked black pepper. The full-bodied palate is coated with rich black fruits, supported by firm, grainy tannins and wonderful freshness, finishing long and fragrant.
94 Points - Wine Advocate
The 2021 EABA is a blend of 63% Syrah, 21% Mourvèdre, 15% Grenache and 1% Viognier sourced from several Santa Barbara County sites and the Slide Hill estate vineyard in Edna Valley. It was fermented with 65% whole clusters and saw a 31-month élevage in 60% new French barrique. The nose is immensely inky and opaque, driven by lavish dark berry compote aromas supported by dark chocolate, amaro and subtle meaty accents. The palate is extraordinarily saturated and staining, containing immense body and plushness. The finish is quite taut and inward, framed with a welcome amount of fine-grained tannins to support the otherwise massive fruit density. While this developed additional aromatic complexity in the glass, its appeal is primarily tethered to its boisterous power and is best enjoyed on the early side.
