Overview of the Wine
Paula and Hans Diwald pioneered their winery’s conversion to completely organic viticulture during a time when chemicals and additives were prominent in winemaking. In 1980, the Diwalds converted their 4 hectare farm into a vineyard. After some trial and error with chemical fertilizers, the two made the decision to farm organically in order to improve the quality of their fruit.

Today Martin Diwald leads the second generation of the family’s commitment  to producing wine that reflects Wagram’s environment, resources, and land.
Being an organic winery is central to their vision, believing that wine made this way will show authenticity and honesty. They take their status as pioneers of Austrian organic wine production seriously, believing that being pioneers also means never resting in their quest for oneness with nature.

NEWS:  This wine changed distributor - Just got a deal on the remaining inventory (someone had to steal this) - I got it!!!   Such a joy to drink - it will only be here for a moment so grab it.  Perfect if you like Sauv Blanc - Albarino - Pinot Gris (Alsace style) - this is a great and steady producer and you will love it... valued at $25 a bottle! 

Review:  Ian Blackburn - 93 Points (14, 23, 23, 33) - ROCKING!
Lovely nose of lemon curd, pastry, apples and pears, white peach, and wet stones.  Bone-dry with high, refreshing acidity, tart citrus, ripe apricot, and a distinct finish of minerality that will have you begging for more...  we will get some but it will be over $20 a bottle... This is my official house wine of summer.  

Good Question:  Isn't Furmit from Hungary?  Yes - typically it is - but this brand prides themselves on being pioneers and this needs to be tasted to be believed.
