Overview of the Wine
I’ve been making wine for over 20 years now. As I’ve grown, I’ve kept in regular contact with Chris. His friendship and mentoring means the world to me, especially as I explore the production of 'High End' Cabernet. It was through Chris that I got to know and partner with Mariano Navarro (Cardinale/Lokoya’s former vineyard manager), whose skill with the vines gives me huge confidence in the fruit I have available to me.
I have a deep love and respect for wine and food, and its fundamental role in bringing people together, sharing through cooking, eating, drinking, laughing, storytelling and memory making. In hindsight, I suppose it was almost inevitable that I've ended up here, doing this.

Winemaker Tasting Notes
Balance balance balance.
Though fleshy and ripe, this Cab is weighted perfectly throughout the lengthy middle with weight on both the front palate and the back.
The nose is Red Fruit straight out front. Rose petals, ripe Strawberries and Boysenberry, with a touch of Black Pepper are countered with Dark Chocolate and Cinnamon.
The Oak, acid and boldness of flavor are perfectly balanced.
96 Points - Jeb Dunnuck
I loved the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Immaculate Vineyard, another brilliant wine from this estate. Where the Bruadair Vineyard is broad and textured, this stays more focused and precise. Crème de cassis, spring flowers, scorched earth, and a Pauillac-like lead pencil character all define the aromatics, and this beauty hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, a focused, elegant mouthfeel, ample ripe tannins, and a great finish. Easily the finest vintage of this cuvée I've tasted, it will benefit from 2-4 years of bottle age and have 20-25 years of overall longevity.
95 Points - James Suckling
Powerful aromas of blood plums, mulberries, cedar and mocha. The palate is full-bodied with fine tannins and integrated acidity, giving notes of blackcurrants, dark cherries, spices and cassia bark. Refined and pure, with a bold finish. Drinkable now, but best from 2030.
95 Points - Wine Spectator
As open and enticing as a young Coombsville Cab could be, offering generous flavors of plum sauce and blackberry compote laced with a melted black licorice element. The back end shows hints of cast iron and tar, but this red stays fleshy and generous in feel overall. There's no rush at all for this serious version. Drink now through 2038. (JM)
92 Points - Wine Enthusiast
Flavors of red plum, cocoa and tea leaf greet the palate. This bold and satisfying wine carries fine-grained tannins and fresh acidity for a persistently long finish. The structure will serve a meal well. Consider lamb and risotto as an accompaniment.
