Overview of the Wine
"Since 1995 we have been passionately dedicated to renovating this little gem of a property in Saint-Estephe and restoring it to its former glory. Located on a magnificent terroir, right next to the Gironde estuary and overlooked by a majestic residence, with its rich and ancient history, the Château Le Boscq vineyards today produce highly distinctive wines, which elegantly combine the powerful character of Saint-Estephe with extraordinary finesse." - Patrick Jestin

Château Le Boscq features among the great classics of the Saint-Estèphe appellation. The first wine, Chateau le Boscq Cru Bourgeois, is a St-Estephe wine bursting with character, which elegantly combines the power of Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, with the Merlot’s finesse, which is unusual for the appellation. Delicate and well-balanced, it has great ageing potential.

Tasting Notes
Deep and concentrated in appearance, the wine is concentrated and intense on the bouquet, developing notes of ripe fruits and liquorice.
Generous and rich on the palate, displaying signs of good maturity, while the silky, well-balanced tannic structure is underpinned by impressive freshness on the finish. A very good Le Boscq ably illustrating the high quality of the gravel-clay soils.

92 Points - Wine Enthusiast
The property of négociant Dourthe is producing some fine wines, including this 2012. It is structured and initially dry, typical of Saint-Estèphe. The fruit though is all there, pushing through the tannins and giving a rich, generous feel to the wine. It's going to age well; wait until 2018.
