Overview of the Wine
Mark Neal has been walking and working organic vineyards almost daily for over 54 years. In 1966, he started as a farmer working alongside his parents on their Napa Valley farm. His love of the land, working with family, and producing small batches of wines was instilled early by his father. 

This upbringing of growing organic grapes inspired him, in 1998, to build Neal Family Vineyards, which is wholly owned, farmed, and operated by his family, a rarity in the winemaking world. Today, working beside several of his children, he handcrafts exquisite and complex Cabernet Sauvignon from his estate’s biodynamic and certified organic vineyards in Howell Mountain and Rutherford.

Our 100% Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from our Howell Mountain Estate and Rutherford Dust Estate vineyards. This vibrant, expressive wine has exemplary fresh fruit characteristics and follows through with classic cassis, mint, and earthy notes. Dried & fresh herbs are complemented with barrel spices like nutmeg, cinnamon, and licorice. A traditional Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.

The Neal Family 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is a  vibrant, expressive wine has exemplary fresh fruit characteristics and follows through with classic cassis, mint, and earthy notes. Dried & fresh herbs are complemented with barrel spices like nutmeg, cinnamon, and licorice. A traditional Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.

This layered and luxurious wine made from organically grown grapes is pitch black in color with a ruby rim. It wafts generous black cherries, blueberries oak toast and spaded loam aromas before mouthfilling black and blue fruits, mint and earth flavors take over. While tempting to drink now, the wine is a keeper. Best from 2027–2037.
