BACK IN STOCK: ABORIGEN, ACRATA TINTA DEL VALLE ROUGE, VALLE DE GUADALUPE, BAJA, MEXICO, 2021
Acrata Tinta del Valle literally means "the red of the valley". In developing this cuvée, oenologist Hugo d'Acosta highlights the origins of the Casa de Piedra, recalling that the first red wines produced in the Guadalupe Valley were based on Grenache. Grenache is, so to speak, an emblematic grape variety of the region's wine terroir. It is this grape variety that is found in Acrata Tinta del Valle 2019, and which was at the origin of the very first bottles of Acrata Tinta. In this cuvée, Grenache reveals intense aromas of red fruits including raspberry, blackcurrant, blackberry and licorice. A tasting contrary to what we are used to, contrary to what we know about Grenache.
An expression of fruit, enhanced by notes of spices that we owe to the terroir of the Guadalupe Valley, where grapes are grown.
