About The Producer
Vinosia is young project founded by Mario and Luciano Ercolino, whose family founded Feudi di San Gregorio where Mario was formerly the head winemaker. In 2003, Mario and Luciano set out to make their own wines and founded Vinosia, a new place of wine. The winery is located in the township of Carazita, 5km from Taurasi, in a village called Luogosano (meaning healthy place). Mario oversees the winemaking process with the highest level of precision and care, while Luciano manages marketing and distribution. Together, they are dedicated to expressing the potential and character of the region's wines by putting a modern spin on native varieties.
About The Wine
Machine harvested in early-November. 12 day maceration on the skins; spontaneous fermentation (inoculation only if necessary). Full in French Oak Barrels. Aged 6 to 8 months in 225L French oak barrique with an additional 4 months in bottle before release. Aging potential up to 6 years.
Grape / Blend
Deep dark fruits, round tannins, hints of toasted oak with substantial cherry and herbal finish that is smooth and velvety. Great with aged cheeses, grilled stuffed peppers, veal and pork meats, and pasta with tomato sauce.
91 Points - James Suckling
Ample, serious fruit here with lots of vanilla-tinged new wood, yet it should all come together with age. Full-bodied, round and chewy. Serious depth of fruit.
