Overview of the Wine
The Winery was established in 1980, when Pierluigi Talenti decided to buy the fascinating property and grounds with which he had fallen in love in the Fifties, when he had decided to leave the mountains of his native Romagna for the sweet and sunny hills of Montalcino.

Experience and thorough research on clones in the whole area of Montalcino, combined with a healthy respect for tradition, allowed the Winery to reach the high levels of quality in enjoys today. Since 1999 the Winery is direct from Talenti family, in the person of his grandson Riccardo Talenti, who, matching tradition to the continuous research of new technologies, continues the work with same dedication and passion of the past years.

Situated in the South area of Montalcino, not far from the small medieval borough of S. Angelo in Colle, stands Pian di Conte, a beautiful building of antique origins, which looks on the gentle valley of the river Orcia and is the seat of the Talenti winery.

Winemaker's Tasting Notes
A rich wine with an ample range of aroma typical for the grape variety, intense ruby-red colour, fragrance of red fruit and morello cherry. Smooth, rich and elegant, with long persistency. A wine with body and structure; qualities which are accentuated and have the possibility to give their best with a long ageing period.

94 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2004 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Vigna Pian di Conte is a rich, sumptuous wine graced with layers of rich fruit and an expansive, seductive personality. There is tremendous elegance and class in this nuanced Brunello that is at times powerful, while at others more delicate. The fruit remains open, which gives an impression of early accessibility, but there appears to be plenty of structure underneath. A lovely sense of inner perfume caresses the palate all the way through to the long, polished finish.

92 Points - Stephen Tanzer
Good bright, dark red. Serious, almost Pauillac-like aromas of medicinal cherry and iron. Sweet, sappy and backward, with a liqueur-like creaminess of texture and flavors of chocolatey oak and minerals. This rich and deep young wine finishes with excellent focus and balance.
