Suertes del Marqués, “Medianías”, Valle de Orotava, Canary Islands, Spain, 2018
Overview of the Wine
Suertes del Marqués is a family winery that has been producingwines since 2006. However, our tradition as winegrowers dates back to twenty years ago that date, growing and selling our grapes to other wineries in the Apellation Valle de La Orotava.
Geographically we are in the north of the island of Tenerife, in Valle de La Orotava, a valley within the town of the same name.
Without losing sight of the respect for tradition, cornerstone of our winery philosophy, in Suertes del Marqués we artificially interfere as little as possible in the production of our wines, so we work with indigenous yeasts, avoid racking and using only minimal amounts of sulfur in our wines.
All processes in the cellar are carried out by hand, from works in the vineyard to harvest. We avoid any systemic treatments in the vineyard, using only natural products when vine diseases eventually arise.
ORGANIC: All grapes are Organic and the winery works with Organic practices.

Medianías (Midlands) is known as the zone about 600 meters high in the Valle de la Orotava. The wines feature notes of fresh salt air from the ocean influence, amazing acidity and yet sun drenched fruit features. Exotically spicy, brambly fruits, with smoky and peppery tones that are very savory and I love to sit and smell the salty aromatics… A great find - the type of wines we love to source for the Merchant of Wine Website
