Overview of the Wine
Being aware of this, we can claim that our vineyard management is not a short-sighted one limited to the wellbeing of the vines alone, but it safeguards the landscape in its entirety. The work carried out by man plays a very important role in the management of both the vineyard and the natural surrounding landscape, which is made up of elements that must be considered individually and duly taken care of in order to preserve the harmony created by their unity, i.e. that of nature itself. This commitment that we have always carried out has led us on the path of organic certification, officially obtained in 2019. It is a tool through which we can guarantee our consumers a healthy and sustainable vineyard management.

Even inside our cellar the contact with the material takes place with delicacy, gently. We turn grapes into wine in a non-invasive way, fully exploiting the powerful tools that nature puts at our disposal.

The research led to the creation of Massifitti wine and marked the beginning of a new era for Trebbiano di Soave within our denomination, awakening the interest of many producers and enthusiasts towards it.

Winemaker's Tasting Notes
The name Massifitti describes the composition of the volcanic soil of this area which is particularly rich in compact basaltic rocks of large dimensions.
The vineyard was planted in 2006 using clones of old Trebbiano di Soave vines which were selected in collaboration with the laboratories of the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Milan and Professor Attilio Scienza as part of our recovery project of this ancient variety.
Over the years we have increased the area dedicated to Trebbiano di Soave by creating new vineyards in different parts of the hills for a total of about 6 hectares.

Colour: bright straw yellow.
Nose: citrus and sweet spices extend over mineral tones and marine perceptions.
Palate: clean and vertical. The lively acidity is combined with an elegant and creamy structure. Long and savory finish.

94 Points - James Suckling
Reductive at first, this opens nicely to reveal fresh sage and thyme, green apples and citrus. The acidity is so sharp, it could cut your palate in two and the mineral undertones are deep and juicy. Tons of oyster shell and gunpowder. So minerally on the finish. Drink now.

93 Points - Vinous
Medium dark yellow. Enticing aromas of pear, sweet herbs and balsamic oils on the fresh, vibrating nose. Then rich and dense but with a laser beam of acidity really lifting and extending the gingery flavors of white and yellow fruit on the long, clean and spicy aftertaste. A lovely wine. The autentico (“authentic”, in English) on the label refers to the fact that Suavia bottles the authentic Trebbiano di Soave (a local biotype of Verdicchio), not Trebbiano Toscano or other lesser Trebbiano varieties.

93Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
This is a terrific white wine, hands down. It is so fine and silky, and you can anticipate beautifully ashy flint and crushed mineral on the close. The 2016 Trebbiano di Soave Massifitti is especially soft and smooth in this vintage and has a generous bouquet that pours out citrus, peach and honeydew melon. Trebbiano di Soave really shows its definition and dimension here, and the Tessari sisters of Suavia truly have created a wine that occupies its own class. Winemaking is executed in stainless steel (with 15 months of lees aging). I would reserve a bottle like this for a precious flaky fish, such as thick filets of wild Alaskan halibut. Some 20,000 bottles were made, but happily, these numbers are sure to increase now that Suavia is adding two more hectares of vines to the Massifitti program.
