Overview of the Wine
“In 2012 I spent 3 months traveling the country of Chile to research my soon-to-be-published Sideways 3 Chile. I fell in love with the country, the people, and its wines. 7 years later I’m now coming out with my own wine – a Pinot Noir, of course! – from Via Wines. Sourced from Tapihue Vineyard in Chile’s great Casablanca Valley, my Pinot is for the anti-wine elitists, those who want to drink well at a price they can afford. This is the first time I’ve seriously put my name on a wine. It should be available everywhere soon.” - Rex Pickett, Author of Sideways

Winemaking
Sourced from 100% Pinot Noir Grapes harvested at the Tapihue Vineyard in Casablanca Valley, Chile. The Tapihue Vineyard is characterized by its granitic soil with a loam-clay texture and little organic matter. A few spots, including where our Pinot Noir is planted also have some quartz, which lends a unique minerality and encourages the fruit to ripen more slowly.
Area under vine: 46 hectares.
Average rainfall: 450 mm per year.
