Overview of the Wine
Seven Stones winery is a 45-acre winery estate nestled within the Meadowood Resort in St. Helena, just above the Meadowood Resort. We originally purchased the undeveloped plot as a family estate, planting a single acre of Cabernet Sauvignon in 1996 and building a jewel-box winery with recreational family winemaking in mind.
Over time, it became evident that the property, surrounded by some of Napa’s most prized vineyards, possessed the well-drained, rocky, volcanic soils that could produce world-class wine. Aaron Pott was hired as winemaker, while the Pinã Vineyard Management was hired to tend the vines. Our inaugural release, the 2005 Seven Stones Cabernet Sauvignon, received high critical praise and sold out quickly, coaxing us to add a few more Lilliputian vineyard blocks and upgrade the winery so that we could coax the highest possible quality out of our exceptional “terroir.” We intend to remain a small, estate winery, with no more than 500 cases produced each year. We are proud to share the results with you.

Winemaker Tasting Notes
The 2009 Seven Stones is a fruit-forward, rich Cabernet of black cherry, spice and chocolate flavors. It is a low-acid, hedonistic offering. It is their only vintage made of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, with previous vintages having a dollop of Merlot. Along with the 2005, this vintage is the most “ready to go” with an hour decanted, pairing well with Beef Burgundy. It has enough “stuffing” to age for another decade. If you like your Cabernet with lots of up-front fruit flavors, this is the wine for you.
97 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Deep garnet in color, the 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon rocks up with expressive crème de cassis, plum preserves and fruitcake scents plus underlying notions of dried bay leaves, crushed rocks, smoked meats and tapenade with a waft of black truffles. Full-bodied, rich, concentrated and laden with spice-laced black fruit preserves, it has a solid frame of plush tannins and loads of freshness, finishing with fantastic length.
95 Points - Wine Spectator
This striking Cabernet weaves together an impressive array of black licorice, gravel, dried berry, currant, cedar and wild flowers. Dense, concentrated, tight yet persistent, with a long, focused finish that keeps the flavors on point.
