Winemaker's Tasting Notes
A blend from all of our vineyard sites, Leah is named after Michael Seresin’s daughter. The fruit is handpicked and completely destemmed before being fermented with wild yeast. A long post-ferment maceration period gives this wine its savoury elegance and structure. Exhibits bright, fragrant berry-fruit aromas, interlaced with spice and herbal notes. The wine is focused and concentrated, with a succulent fruit core, framed by fine-grained tannins and a mouth-watering acidity. An elegant and understated style with immediate appeal, but structure to last.
93 Points - Ian Blackburn
Wow - Tasted August 2020 - now with several years in the bottle the artistry is now melting with the chemistry. This wine is sensational, and achieves complexity that other New Zealand efforts fall short of... there is a sameness there - but not here ... confused? I hope not... this is a tremendous effort and made with the highest of ETHOS... I commend and recommend... this is a great bottle of pinot with nose of cherries (fresh chopped red cherry's) - brown spices - sautéed mushroom - wild spices and hints of savory foods and cool ocean breezes.... wild and natural - but elegant and refined. SERESIN is a serious name and this is a serious wine.
