Overview of the Wine
The Quinta da Lixa is a living testament to the passion that the Meireles family has always had for Vinho Verde.
This grower sold most of its grapes to cooperatives until 1986, when it set up a small firm, and this became what is now known as the Quinta da Lixa - Sociedade Agrícola, Lda.
At first the wines produced were sold in bulk, but it soon became clear that their quality and popularity was such that estate bottling was required.
Produced by the noted winemaker, Carlos Teixeira (Quinta da Lixa) - these wines are now stunningly fresh - bright - aromatic - light - sizzling - and did I say fresh?
Recommended for by the case purchase because these drink like a tall drink of water... and feel so good on a hot humid day.
60% Touriga Nacional, 40% Espadeiro
Very refreshing rosé from Vinho Verde made from Touriga Nacional and Espadeiro. As you’d expect there’s some spritz which gives a zippy fizz on the tongue, adding even more to the overall refreshing mouthfeel. It’s light bodied – alcohol is just 10.5% – with aromas of roses, cranberries, and strawberries. Easy and fun, and perfect for the summer months.
91 Points - Ian Blackburn
Zippy fresh, crisp and clean with just the right about of Frizante Spritz and insane acid, and just the right about of RS (residual sugar), which is the deal... Imagine lemonade without sugar? This is not sweet, but not dry—it's the Goldilocks touch. This is the world's greatest wine with seafood tacos, an ahi tuna burger, sushi, or any type of tapas. Vegetarians will like this with all kinds of veggies, grilled or raw. Enjoy the pool, the beach, the sunset with VV Rosé!
