Overview of the Wine
The northern tip of the Campania is the extreme rural 'Terre di Lavoro' region. Considered a fortunate location, this fertile and sunny land is generous and offers a plentiful harvest. The area around the village of Conca the Galluccio DOC is developing, bringing back to life some of the best vineyards known to the Romans. Here, the owners of Vestini Campagano have decided to make a home for their research into Campania varieties and identified the Galluccio as the most precious among all Campania winegrowing regions.

HISTORY: This recently acquired land has been replanted to 4 Campania
varieties by the Barletta family, equipped by a very functional modern cellar
and staffed with a young enthusiastic team under the guidance of Luigi and
Amadeo Barletta.

Tasting Notes

Hints of perfumed lilac and crushed red berries on the nose, with fruit forward tannins that reveal the smoky lava soils of the Roccamonfina appellation on the back palate.

From Ian Blackburn:  I think of all the wines in the store - I will gravitate toward a wine like this to show "extreme value" - this is one of the best wines you can buy at the price.  Measured red fruits that float gracefully over the pounds of crushed lava rock, I adore the nose - I smile and think Italian Food - and in the mouth there is really rewarding harmony... while tannic, and zingy with acidity - this wine has great personality and is a total over achiever.  Valued around $30 - but for much less at Merchant of wine and proud - 92 points - Ian Blackburn
