Overview of the Wine
Piero Mancini is a benchmark producer of Vermentino di Gallura. Located in the northwestern corner of Sardegna, Piero planted his first grapes in the 1960’s and founded the estate in 1989. Piero’s children Alessandro, Antonio and Laura Mancini operate the winery today. The winery’s main production is an exceptional Vermentino di Gallura – a refreshing wine that along with the citrus notes and crisp acidity has great texture and layered notes of salinity and minerality. They also bottle a Vermentino Superiore bottling called Cucaione (Cuckoo Bird) which is aged longer on its lees and has added depth, complexity and concentration. In many ways, the family feels that this is the true calling card of Gallura. The cuckoo is also the bird depicted on the company’s logo.

Winemaker's Tasting Notes
It is produced with 100% Vermentino grapes. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 18 ° C.

Vermentino di Sardegna by Piero Mancini has a pale straw yellow color with greenish reflections. The nose opens with an elegant and delicate floral bouquet. On the palate it is dry and balanced, of medium structure, with a pleasant aftertaste of bitter almond.

Perfect to accompany shellfish and coquillages, this white wine is ideal in combination with white meats and fish-based first courses.
