A paradigm shift for Ruth and George Mihaly saw us surrender our established careers in food for Ruth and medical research for George to viticulture and winemaking respectively.
We have always been passionate about food and wine and our obsessive pursuit of quality and commitment to ecologically responsible practices led us to establish our ideal and environmentally sustainable vineyard/home site on the Mornington Peninsula.
The overriding focus is on achieving balanced healthy vines producing carefully selected, exceptional & low yielding fruit.
We therefore have only estate grown wines - showing elegance and intensity – but always a purity of varietal expression for each wine - Riesling, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir & Shiraz….. The journey continues….

Winemaker's Tasting Notes
The ideal mild conditions experienced during the growing season and up to harvest ensured the fruit retained its fine acidity and with added complexity in aromas and flavours. The Riesling presents with enticing aromas of white flowers, citrus and at this youthful stage, crunchy green apples. The finesse on the palate combines with a rich full texture resulting in a long, balanced and of course, a refreshing line of acid to finish. Ideal for summer drinking or for extensive cellaring [15 + years].
Certified Organic, Biodynamic, Zero Carbon Footprint. In 2002, Dr George Mihaly and wife Ruth realised a 30-year dream of establishing their own vineyard and winery, abandoning their previous established careers in medicine and food, respectively. Aptly named Paradigm Hill, the winery, located in Merricks (the cooler climate of the Mornington Peninsula) sits on a north facing gently sloping vineyard, and is surrounded by ocean on three sides which creates even temperate conditions that makes the Mornington Peninsula a marginal cooler site ideal for growing these four varieties and making wines of elegance, complexity, nuance, varietal purity and great length or persistence on the palate.

Bone dry with notes of reduction. Pineapple, mango, citrus, stoney, flinty, drilling with acidity. Drink Now - screw cap is a great closure but will only amplify the reductive notes. I am blowing this out - our loss is your gain. 88 Points
